Southeast Georgia Health System physicians, leaders, and clinicians gathered
today to celebrate the
Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence award, which was presented to the Southeast Georgia Health System Wound
Care Center by Healogics Inc., the nation’s largest provider of
advanced wound care services. The award is named for Robert A. Warriner
III, M.D., a pioneer in wound care and the former chief medical officer
The Wound Care Center received this award for meeting the
Center of Distinction quality standards for two years in a row. The Center has achieved patient
satisfaction rates over 92 percent and a
rate of greater than or equal to 91 percent in less than 30 median days,
among other quality standards.
"Our panel of specially trained physicians, nurses and hyperbaric
technologists use proven best practice guidelines to obtain superior outcomes
for our patients", says Eric Segerberg, M.D., general surgeon and
medical director of the Center. "We are proud to provide this specialized and
service to our community."
The Wound Care Center is a member of the Healogics Network of over 550
centers, with access to benchmarking data and experience of treating over
two million chronic wounds. The Southeast Georgia Health System Wound Care
highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers,
pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed
in a reasonable amount of time. Advanced treatments include hyperbaric
oxygen therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes,
biological and biosynthetic dressings
growth factor therapies.
"Fewer than 10 percent of the centers nationwide received this award,"

System. "Receiving this award speaks volumes about the quality of
the care being provided to our patients."
