
Jan. 29, 2014 – Southeast Georgia Health System is pleased to announce
2015-2016 term Brunswick Campus Medical Staff officers and leadership.
Stephen J. Thompson, M.D., chief of staff. A board-certified pediatrician
at Pediatric Associates of Brunswick, he previously served as vice chief
for the Medical Staff at the Brunswick Campus. Thompson earned his medical
degree from Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and completed his residency at
Medical
University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Mark G. Hanly, M.D., vice chief of staff and also continues as vice chief
of the Department of Pathology. A board-certified pathologist at Southeastern
Pathology Associates, he previously served as secretary-treasurer of the
Medical Staff at the Brunswick Campus. Hanly earned his medical degree
at the University of Zimbabwe and completed two residencies, one at
University
of Capetown in South Africa and one at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
He also completed fellowships at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer
Center in Houston and the Medical College of Georgia.
Erick Bournigal, M.D., secretary-treasurer. Board-certified in rheumatologist
and internal medicine physician, Bournigal practices at Southeast Georgia
Physician Associates-Rheumatology, a strategic affiliate of Southeast
Georgia Health System. Bournigal earned his medical degree from the Ohio
State College of Medicine in Columbus and completed his residency and
fellowship at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland.
