Jan. 2, 2015 – Camden County’s first baby of the year was in
no rush to arrive, waiting until Friday, Jan. 2, to make his grand entrance.
Parents Amber Carey and Jamiel Mercer welcomed their second son, Javari’
Donovan Mercer, into the world as Camden County’s first baby of
the year at 11:29 a.m. on Jan. 2, 2015.
Born at the Southeast Georgia Health System Camden Campus Maternity Care
Center in St. Marys, little Javari’ weighed in at 7 lbs., 5 oz.,
and measured 20 inches long. He was delivered by Steve A. Nickisch, M.D.,
board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, with Southeast Georgia
Physician Associates-Obstetrics & Gynecology, a strategic affiliate
of Southeast Georgia Health System.
To welcome Javari’, the Health System presented the happy family
with a large basket full of gifts and baby care necessities from the Southeast
Georgia Health System Camden Campus Gift Shop.
