January 8, 2015 —What does it really imply if products are listed
as all-natural or gluten-free? Which part of the label should you review
first? Are you getting the appropriate amount of beneficial nutrients?
Understanding food labels is an essential part of making sure you are
getting the safest and healthiest food possible.
Join us for the Lunch and Learn For Your Health lecture at the Golden Isles
YMCA from 12 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28, as Melinda Peterlin, M.D.,
board-certified
pediatrician with Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-St. Simons Pediatrics
presents “The Truth Behind Food Labels.” Cracker Barrel will
provide lunch at no charge to attendees.
The lecture will offer important information on nutrition basics and making
healthy choices.
The Lunch and Learn For Your Health series takes place on the last Wednesday
of each month at the Golden Isles YMCA located at 144 Scranton Connector,
Brunswick. Seating is limited and pre-registration is required by calling
the YMCA at 912-265-4100.
