December 30, 2015—The New Year will include a new address for Summit
Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery, a strategic affiliate of Southeast
Georgia Health System. The two Brunswick offices in the Summit Professional
Plaza will close on Thursday, Dec. 31, and reopen one week later, on Thursday,
Jan. 7, in the Health System’s Medical Plaza across from the Brunswick Campus.
“Having our new location closer to the hospital’s main campus
allows us to provide more convenient services to patients, especially
on busy days when doctors may be unexpectedly called to the emergency
or operating rooms,” says J. Melvin Deese, M.D., medical director
for the Health System’s Orthopaedic & Spine Center and board-certified
orthopaedic surgeon with Summit.
The new location also offers patients easier access to related services
and specialists, including athletic trainers and comprehensive rehabilitation,
occupational and speech therapists, and pediatric rehabilitation services
at Wolfson Children's at Southeast Georgia Health System.
Summit will retain its Camden and St. Simon’s locations to continue
offering patients convenient access to the care they know and trust.
Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery hours are Monday-Friday,
8:30-5 p.m. For more information, please call 912-262-9961.
