Dec. 3, 2015 – Southeast Georgia Health System’s two hospitals
have been named in the 2015 Top Hospitals in the state by Georgia Trend
magazine. The Brunswick Campus hospital ranked 7th in the large hospital
category (over 250 patient beds), and the Camden Campus hospital ranked
10th in the small hospital category (fewer than 100 patient beds). The
2015 Top Hospitals were listed in the December issue of the business and
lifestyle magazine.
“We are so honored to be included on this list,” said Michael
D. Scherneck, president and CEO, Southeast Georgia Health System. “I
especially appreciate these rankings because it affirms our teams members’
hard work over the last year. We are proud to provide safe, quality, accessible
and cost-effective care to meet the health care needs of the people and
communities we serve.”
Data used to determine the rankings came from publicly available data compiled
by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS), which provides information
on more than 40 quality-related indicators including patient experience,
outcomes of care, process of care and value of services rendered. Hospital
bed size was determined by the American Hospital Directory and the rankings
include only hospitals that participate in CMS Value Based Purchasing
Program. Georgia Trend magazine worked with analysts from FTI Consulting
to compile the data using a download from July 2015.
