Medical Explorer Program Offers Teens View of Health Care Career Opportunities
August 31, 2015 – The Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick and
Camden campuses are launching their ninth year of support for Medical
Explorer Post. The program is operated in partnership with the Coastal
Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America and provides high school
students with a unique opportunity to explore health care careers.
The program is invaluable for young people who might be considering a
career in the medical field, including health care careers that they may
not know exist. Each month a different service is explored through presentations
and hands-on activities. The educational requirements for related health
care jobs, along with their income potential, are also discussed throughout
The first official meeting for the Brunswick Campus Post #466 will be
on Tuesday, Sept. 15; thereafter, meetings will be held on the third Tuesday
of each month in the Linda S. Pinson Conference Center.
An information session for both students and parents for the Camden Campus
Post #2322 will be on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 6-8 p.m., in the Cafeteria Conference
Room. Thereafter, meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month.
The program is very affordable with an annual cost of $25; students (grades
9-12) can join the Post at any time during the year. To find out more
