April 30, 2015 – On Saturday, April 25, 2015, Rosemary Greer participated
in the 40thAnnual Ms. Georgia Health Care Pageant held at the Evergreen
Marriott Conference Resort at Stone Mountain, Georgia. A resident of the
Southeast Georgia Health System Senior Care Center-Brunswick, Greer traveled
to the pageant with Karen Andrews Daniel, LNHA, administrator, and Caticia
Barber, activity assistant.
Greer was crowned Ms. Senior Care Center-Brunswick during the inaugural
resident pageant on Feb. 10, 2015. The local pageant, which included 11
women vying for the title of Ms. Senior Care Center-Brunswick, was the
first stage of a competition that led to a statewide pageant conducted
by the Georgia Health Care Association.
“I had a delightful time in Atlanta,” said Greer. “Everything
was quite nice, the food, the people. We just had amazing fun.”
Twenty-one women from various nursing homes across the state of Georgia
were selected as semi-finalists. Paul Ossmann, a weekend meteorologist
for CBS46 celebrated his 25thyear as emcee of this event, and Maggie Bridges,
Miss Georgia 2014, entertained contestants and the audience with two songs
while the judges tabulated their votes. Bertha Miles, 86, from Pierce
County Nursing Home was crowned 2015 Ms. Georgia Health Care Association.
Greer, a former interior designer and resident of New York, NY, is 83
years young and has lived at the Senior Care Center-Brunswick since October
2014. Upon her return from Atlanta, she was presented with a flowering
plant, balloons and a gift certificate to the Brunswick Campus Auxiliary
Gift Shop by Gary R. Colberg, FACHE, president & CEO and Patrick D.
