April 9, 2015 – Southeast Georgia Health System is pleased to announce
the newly opened Ribbon of Hope, a health care specialty boutique. Located
in the Medical Plaza, adjacent to the Health System’s Brunswick
Campus, the boutique offers post-surgical specialty products, apparel
and gift items for adults and children.
“Oftentimes, post-surgical and cancer patients can feel overwhelmed
physically, emotionally and spiritually,” says Stephanie Sinopoli,
director, Cancer Care Centers. “Ribbon of Hope offers products that
can help restore self-image and self-esteem.”
In addition to compression garments, wigs, prosthetics
and
bras, the boutique offers stylish clothing, fashion accessories, and specialty
gifts. A private fitting room is available for trying on swimsuits, bras,
prosthetics, wigs
and
hairpieces. Wig hairstyling is also available by appointment.
Products include:
- Breast forms in a variety of shapes and sizes including classic silicone
and custom prosthetics
- Breast enhancers: commercial and custom-made
- Compression garments
- Post-mastectomy bras for sports and leisure
- Post-radiation lotions and deodorants (aluminum and metallic free)
- Surgical camisoles with pockets for drainage pouches
- Swimwear with pockets for prosthetics

“We can help women find bras and prosthetics that provide a comfortable,
personalized fit, and can consult with doctors as needed,” says
Stephanie Shuman, certified mastectomy fitter. “This is the most
fulfilling job I’ve ever had because our goal is to ensure our customers
leave feeling better about themselves then when they entered the store—and
they almost always do!”
Shuman added that most insurance companies and Medicare will pay for fittings
and up to six bras per year with a doctor’s referral. Ribbon of
Hope also offers catalogs to order special items, which are generally
received within a few days.
Ribbon of Hope is located in the Medical Plaza at 3025 Shrine Road, across
from the Health System Brunswick Campus. Store hours are Monday–Friday,
