Associates-Neurosciences, a strategic affiliate of Southeast Georgia Health
System, welcomed their newest team member,
Phlilip
P. Amodeo, M.D.,
board-certified
neurologist, by dumping a bucket of ice water over his head. Lori Trefts,
M.D., organized the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which raised a total of
$330 for the ALS Association. Health System participants also included
Gary R. Colberg, FACHE, president & CEO, Atrac Kay, M.D., and Marion
Alston, FNP.
Health System team members and community members gathered in the Linda
S. Pinson courtyard to purchase $1 tickets for a chance to dump ice water
on those participating.
Between July 29 and August 12, The ALS Association and its 38 chapters
have received an astonishing $4 million in donations compared to $1.12
million during the same time period last year as a result of the ice bucket
challenge. Contributions further The Association’s mission to find
a cure for ALS while funding the highest quality of care for people living
with the disease.
