In observance of National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month, the
Southeast Georgia Health System Senior Care Centers invite the community
to attend "Laugh or Cry," a presentation by Mike Cordle, D.Min.,
chaplain with Hospice of the Golden Isles.
The events will take place at the following times and locations:
- Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2:30 p.m.
Senior Care Center-St. Marys, 805 Dilworth St., St. Marys, GA 31558
- Tuesday, Nov. 18, 10:30 a.m.
Senior Care Center-Brunswick, 2611 Wildwood Dr., Brunswick, GA 31520
Caregivers will benefit from hearing "Laugh or Cry," which blends
Cordle’s professional experience as a hospice chaplain with his
personal experience caring for his mother and father who both had Alzheimer’s
disease and died within six weeks of each other. "I have been a hospice
chaplain for almost a decade and have learned a lot about working with
Alzheimer’s patients, but most of what I have learned comes from
my own life experience with my Mom and Dad," Cordle said. "My
brothers and I discovered that with our parents we could either laugh
or cry about it, so we decided we were going to laugh."
The 30-minute presentation, offered free of charge, will follow with a
question-and-answer session. To register, call 855-ASK-SGHS (855-275-7447).
