The Southeast Georgia Health System Auxiliaries recently announced Rheba
Mathis as the Brunswick Campus Volunteer of the Quarter and Johnny Peralta
as the Camden Campus Volunteer of the Quarter during their respective
quarterly Auxiliary luncheons.
A member of the Auxiliary since 2004, Mathis currently volunteers in the
gift shop. "For over a decade, Rheba has served others in our Brunswick
campus gift shop. Her dedication, positive attitude
and
passion for helping others are just a few of the reasons she is deserving
of this award," says Kristin Doll, director, Volunteer Services.
In her spare time, Mathis enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with
her husband, Doyle, and her two children and three grandchildren. "I
enjoy interacting with the people that I volunteer with and I enjoy meeting
people that shop in the gift shop," says Mathis.
Johnny Peralta has volunteered in the Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Camden
Primary Care since 2013. "Johnny is a very caring individual who
is always helping people," says Kathleen Worthing, president, Camden
Campus Auxiliary.
Peralta is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management
and enjoys spending time with family and working out. "I like volunteering
because I enjoy helping people," says Peralta.
More than 300 volunteers currently enjoy sharing their time and talents
to assist patients, visitors, and team members at the Southeast Georgia
Health System Brunswick and Camden campuses, as well as the Senior Care
Centers in Brunswick and St. Marys. To find out more about volunteer opportunities,
