Join Dan Welch, ATC, a certified athletic trainer with Southeast Georgia
Health System Sports Medicine, on Tuesday, Aug. 5, as he hosts "Sports
Smart," a question and answer session focusing on "Tips on How
to Prevent Dehydration and Heat Related Illnesses."
The drop-in event, which takes place 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Golden Isles
YMCA in the Southeast Georgia Health System Health Information Center,
located at 144 Scranton Connector in Brunswick, is open to the community
and does not require YMCA membership. Participants are welcome to drop
in during the session to learn more about the signs and symptoms of heat
illness and tips for staying hydrated when exercising in the heat.
Southeast Georgia Health System Sports Medicine presents the Sports Smart
series the first Tuesday of each month. The presenters and topics, which
focus on sports health and injury prevention, vary monthly.
