Southeast Georgia Health System is pleased to announce the naming of Nelda
Johnson and Tammy Matthews as Stars of the Quarter. Each quarter, Health
System team members nominate their peers for performance that exceeds
the Health System’s standards of service excellence.
Johnson, a 5 Telemetry unit clerk and monitor tech on the Brunswick Campus,
has been employed with the Health System since 2006. A true example of
an exceptional team member, Johnson was instrumental in the implementation
of the new Provider Order Entry System, working many extra shifts to assist
the providers. She consistently delivers exceptional care and compassion
when assisting patients, earning praise from staff and patients alike.
Recently, a patient described Johnson as a "true angel that came
to my rescue and made me feel special."
"While Nelda’s primary job is a unit clerk and monitor tech,
she goes out of her way to assist anyone, anywhere, anytime that she is
needed," says Patrick D. Ebri, Ph.D., vice president, Human Resources.
"Nelda springs into action when needed and her great smile and willingness
to help others, no matter the task, set her apart from others."
Matthews, an environmental services tech on the Camden Campus since February
2013, was also recognized as Star of the Quarter for cheerfully doing
whatever is asked. During an exceptionally busy day in the Emergency Care
Center recently, Matthews performed above and beyond as she quickly responded
to staff and patient needs while also fulfilling her responsibilities
of maintaining a clean and safe work environment. She is very caring towards
patients and team members, and always answers call lights with a smile.
"Tammy’s fellow team members greatly appreciate her cheerful
attitude and initiative to respond to situations and perform whatever
is needed," said Howard W. Sepp Jr., FACHE, vice president and administrator,
Camden Campus. "She is a great asset to the Health System and exemplifies
our Service Excellence Standards."
