Masson was named Volunteer of the Quarter at the Southeast Georgia Health
System Camden Campus Auxiliary’s quarterly luncheon on Monday, March
10, 2014. A member of the Auxiliary for nearly two years, Masson volunteers
in the Outpatient Lab and Guest Services each week and fills in as needed
in other departments.
"Marilyn truly has a giving spirit," says Kristin Doll, director,
Volunteer Services. "She always has a smile, a helping hand, or a
word of encouragement for everyone she encounters."
Masson also volunteers with the Ladies Auxiliary of Our Lady of Star of
the Sea. A resident of St. Marys, she has two children and two grandchildren.
Her hobbies include visiting the beach, listening to music and dancing,
but Masson states her main interest and hobby is helping people whenever
and wherever she can.
"Volunteering at the Health System is such a pleasure, the volunteers
and staff are all so nice," says Masson. "I have learned that
when I volunteer, giving my time and sharing my skills, that I also get
back from the experience. If I can help someone or make them smile, it
makes my day. Through volunteering, I have learned how good people are."
More than 300 volunteers currently enjoy sharing their time and talents
to assist patients, visitors, and team members at the Southeast Georgia
Health System Brunswick and Camden campuses, as well as the Senior Care
Centers in Brunswick and St. Marys. To find out more about volunteer opportunities,
