Health System to Host Veterans Day Recognition Programs
In honor of the men and women who have served our country through military
service, Southeast Georgia Health System will host a Veterans Day Recognition
on Monday, November 11, from 3-4 p.m.on the Brunswick and Camden campuses.
The events will include select readings of letters to Veterans, guest
speakers, recognition of Veterans in attendance, Corps Color Guard presentation
of colors, and patriotic music.
The celebrations, which are free and open to the public, will take place
at the Southeast Georgia Health System Camden Campus, 2000 Dan Proctor
Drive, St. Marys. The Brunswick Campus celebration will be held at the
Senior Care Center-Brunswick at 2611 Wildwood Drive. Attendees are welcome
to wear their uniforms and share military memorabilia.
In addition to the recognition program, greeting cards will be available
for attendees to participate in the Holiday Mail for Heroes program. The
personalized greeting cards will be delivered to the American Red Cross
for distribution to military installations, Veterans hospitals, and other
locations in time for Christmas delivery.
With a special focus on military appreciation, Veterans Day is a celebration
to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country,
and willingness to serve for the common good. Unlike Memorial Day, which
honors those in the military who died in service to their country or as
a result of injuries incurred during battle, Veterans Day pays tribute
to all veterans - especially to living veterans who served their country
during war or peacetime.
