Health System Marks Official Unveiling of Medical Plaza
Nov. 1, 2013--Southeast Georgia Health System celebrated the official unveiling
of its new Medical Plaza on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, with a dedication,
ribbon cutting and open house. The three-story, 60,000-square-foot Medical
Plaza is located at 2060 Dan Proctor Drive in St. Marys.
“We are excited to see the Medical Plaza-Camden open its doors to
provide a convenient location for physician offices and outpatient services
for our community,” says Rose D. Andrews, chair, Camden Campus Advisory
Board. “As our community grows and businesses consider relocating
to Camden County, one of the primary concerns is the availability of quality
health care. The opening of the Medical Plaza is evidence of the Health
System’s vision to meet our community’s future health care
needs.”
The Medical Plaza is currently at 70 percent capacity, which leaves room
for growth. In addition to the Health System outpatient laboratory services,
tenants include LightHorse Healthcare, Inc., Renue Plastic Surgery, Southeast
Georgia Physician Associates-Internal Medicine, Southeast Georgia Physician
Associates-Obstetrics & Gynecology and Summit Sports Medicine &
Orthopaedic Surgery.
C. William Mitchell, M.D., board-certified plastic surgeon with Renue
Plastic Surgery, acknowledged how the Health System’s strategic
placement of the Medical Plaza offices eases access for physicians and
patients. “The convenience of having the Medical Plaza located on
the Camden Campus is an advantage for physicians and patients. It allows
physicians like myself more time to see patients in the office as well
as those admitted to the hospital, and patients can easily obtain the
outpatient services they need, such as lab work or imaging services, without
the need to drive to another location.”
The evening’s ribbon cutting and dedication was followed by a community
open house that included tours of the Medical Plaza physician offices.
“The expansion of the Camden Campus over the past few years is an
outstanding example of how a small community hospital can provide excellent
care,” says Gary R. Colberg, FACHE, president & CEO, Southeast
Georgia Health System. “Due to the vision of our Hospital Authority
board and the Camden Campus Advisory board, as well as our physicians
and team members’ dedication to providing quality patient care,
the Camden Campus was recently named 2013 Small Hospitalof the Year by
the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals.”
“We are very thankful for the support of our community and pleased
to be able to offer the finest health care teams in the best facilities
possible,” added Colberg. “Working together works!”
