The BrunswickJunior Woman’s Club and Glynn County Heart Association
presented $20,000 to the Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation on
Wednesday, May 15. Half of the funds were proceeds from the Club's
Sixth Annual Red Dress Ball, and the amount was matched penny for penny
by Glynn County Heart Association.
According to DelRia Baisden, vice president, Southeast Georgia Health
System, the funds will be used to purchase an upgradedpatient monitoring
system for the cardiology procedures room.
Since 2008, Brunswick Junior Woman's Club and Glynn County Heart Association
combined have donated $102,000 to the Health System Foundation for cardiac
services. Glynn County Heart Association’s portion is made possible
by generous contributions from the family of Dr. E.R. Jennings. Dr. Jennings
was instrumental in starting the Glynn Heart Fund, which is known today
as Glynn County Heart Association.
“We are grateful for these continued contributions that allow us
to provide better care and improve the lives of our patients,” says
James A. Bishop, chair, Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation.
The Southeast Georgia Health System mission of providing safe, quality
and cost-effective care to meet the health care needs of the people and
communities it serves is strengthened by the generosity of donor’s
philanthropic gifts. Established in 1994, the Southeast Georgia Health
System Foundation is the fundraising and resource development organization
