Health System Honors Long-time Team Members at Annual Awards Banquet
Southeast Georgia Health System honored its long-time team members during
its annual Service Awards Banquet held at the JekyllIslandConvention Centeron
Friday, May 3, with a theme of “Consistently Caring Through Changing
Times.”
A total of 342 team members with five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40
years of service were honored with a delectable buffet dinner and presented
certificates in recognition of their years of service to the Health System.
A highlight of the evening included special recognition of team member
Aija Choi, R.N., for 40 years of service. Humbled by the occasion and
recognition, she thanked everyone for supporting her and accepting her
as a member of the work family.
Team members Elizabeth Corbitt, CMD, Brenda W. Green, Charlene S. Harper,
R.N., BSN, Alma Jean Jones, William Lewis, Gale B. Martin, Sharanne Murphy,
R.N., BSN, Dawn Newbern, R.N., Alma Pogue, R.N., BSN, Joyce Squires, R.N.,
and Carolyn Vaughn, R.N., were honored for 35 years of service to the
Health System.
“With more than 3,540 years of accumulative years of service, clearly
the number of team members being celebrated tonight validates their confidence
in us as an employer of choice,” said Gary R. Colberg, FACHE, president
& CEO, Southeast Georgia Health System. “More importantly, their
devotion, expertise and professionalism validate their commitment to ensuring
the communities we serve have access to exceptional care. I am truly honored
to work beside each of you. You are the reason our Health System is able
to continue adding new services, recruit exceptionally-qualified physicians
and team members, and provide the highest level of care.”
Carl Alexander, chair, Glynn-Brunswick Memorial Hospital Authority, voiced
his appreciation as well. “Healthcare is truly one of the most complex
professions. Regardless of job title, all of you dedicate yourselves day
in and day out to helping others. On behalf of the Hospital Authority,
I express our appreciation for everything you do, and I am honored to
be with you tonight to celebrate your commitment to the health and well-being
of our community.”
