"Mommy 911: When to Call the Doctor" Topic for Free Health Education Lecture

Knowing when to call the pediatrician can be tricky, especially if you’re a parent of a new baby or young children. You may be worried about symptoms your child is experiencing, but unsure if it warrants a call to the doctor, especially if it’s the middle of the night.

On Tuesday, May 21, Kimberly Stoughton-Doherty, M.D., pediatrician with Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Camden Pediatrics, will present “Mommy 911: When to Call the Doctor.” The lecture will offer essential information on when and why to call the pediatrician, helpful information to have available when calling the pediatrician or visiting the emergency room; common illnesses and injuries that can be handled at home (at least initially); and illnesses and injuries that should always prompt a visit to the emergency room or pediatrician’s office.

The free lecture will take place 6-7 p.m. at the Southeast Georgia Health System Camden Campus, Cafeteria Conference Room, 2000 Dan Proctor Drive, St. Marys, Ga.

Lecture topics vary each month and a question and answer session is included at the conclusion of each lecture. Light refreshments will be served.
