Stephanie Wolverton First in Georgia to Receive National Certified Joint Commission Professional Designation

Stephanie L. Wolverton, R.N., BSN, manager of accreditation services for Southeast Georgia Health System, has been awarded the designation of Certified Joint Commission Professional from The Joint Commission/Joint Commission Resources.

In 2013, The Joint Commission created a “first of its kind” national certification program for accreditation professionals that demonstrates and validates their expertise and experience in planning, leading and executing Joint Commission accreditation compliance activities. It is the only certification recognized by The Joint Commission.

Wolverton is one of 47 in The Joint Commission Resources’ 2013 Inaugural Class and was the only accreditation professional in the State of Georgia to achieve this certification.

Wolverton manages the Health System’s Continuous Survey Readinessprogram for the Health System campuses. In that role, she works closely with the leadership team to plan, implement and evaluate the Health System’s compliance with the Joint Commission Standards and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (“CMS”) MedicareHospital Conditions of Participation.

Since joining the Compliance department in 2006, Wolverton has successfully led the Health System to full Joint Commission accreditationon both the Brunswickand Camdencampuses for two surveys at each campus.

Wolverton also recently earned a bachelor of science in nursing from the College of Coastal Georgia and is now working towards her master’s degree.
