Southeast Georgia Health System is pleased to announce that Healogics,
Inc. has named Eric C. Segerberg, M.D., as the medical director of the
Health System’s WoundCareCenterlocated on the Brunswick Campus.
A board-certified general surgeon with Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Glynn
General & Vascular Surgery, a strategic affiliate of Southeast Georgia
Health System, Segerberg has specialty training in wound management and
hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
“We are very pleased to have Dr. Segerberg accept the medical director
position,” says Renee McCullough, area vice president, Healogics,
Inc. “His many years of clinical and medical staff leadership experience
will be valuable assets to the Wound Care Center patients and staff.”
Segerberg has held a variety of medical staff leadership positions during
his career including Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff at Southeast
Georgia Health System-Brunswick Campus. He was also a long-standing member
of the Glynn-Brunswick Memorial Hospital Authority.
The SoutheastGeorgiaHealthSystemWoundCareCenteris a member of Healogics
Inc., the nation’s largest provider of hospital based wound care
centers. The Center’s comprehensive wound care services include
infectious disease management, debridement, vascular and laboratory evaluation,
pain management, radiology services, and diabetic education, as well as
hyperbaric oxygen therapy, where the patient is placed in a pressurized
chamber and breathes 100 percent oxygen. This increases oxygen in the
blood stream and enhances the healing process. The Center has provided
more than 5,800 hyperbaric oxygen treatments since it opened in 2007.
