Saturday, Feb. 2, is going to be a “BONEtastic Saturday” at
the Southeast Georgia Health System Camden Campus, 2000 Dan Proctor Drive,
St. Marys, and everyone is invited to attend. This free event, set to
take place from 10 a.m. until noon, will offer the chance to participate
in a variety of free health screenings, a Brown Bag Medication Review,
and an opportunity to learn more about bone health and related services
provided by the Health System.
Attendees can take advantage of several free health screenings, including
bone density, balance, blood pressure and blood sugar, and prescription
and over-the-counter medication reviews. Medical experts, including members
of the Orthopaedic & Spine Center medical team, will be on hand with
valuable health education information, and to answer questions anyone
might have about orthopaedic and spine related services and treatment options.
During the Brown Bag Medication Review, attendees bring all of their prescription
medicines, over-the-counter medications, herbal supplements and vitamins
in a brown paper bag to learn about their common uses, side-effects and
potentially harmful interactions with other medications. A pharmacist
or pharmacy student will be on hand to provide a free one-on-one consultation,
prepare a current list of medications, and answer questions about the
safe and effective use of medications.
