Effective January 2, 2014, Southeast Georgia Health System will begin charging
$3 for its valet parking services at the Brunswick Campus hospitals Parkwood
Drive entrance and the Outpatient Care Center's Starling Street entrance,
weekdays from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The present local and national economic environment, declining reimbursement,
growth of uninsured patients and increased expenses have all combined
to significantly impact the finances of Southeast Georgia Health System.
To counteract these forces, the Health System initiated a strategic initiative
reduction plan to better align expenses and revenues. Many programs and
services, as well as all aspects of the Health System's operations,
are being reviewed for opportunities to reduce expenses without negatively
affecting direct patient care.
The new valet parking fee changes will help offset some of the cost to
provide valet parking services at the Southeast Georgia Health System
Brunswick Campus. Valet parking is a popular service among Health System
visitors and patients, and had been provided at no charge since 2004.
Patients and visitors may choose to self-park no charge or pay the valet
service fee. Handicap-designated parking spaces are available close to
the building and wheelchairs are provided at the entrances.
