Health System Welcomes New Vice President of Physician Practices
SoutheastGeorgia Health System is pleased to welcome Katie Wood as the
new vice president of Physician Practices for Cooperative Healthcare Services,
Inc., a strategic affiliate of the Health System.
Most recently, Wood served as the vice president of the Jewish Physician
Group at Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare in Louisville,
Ky. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University
of Louisville.
Wood has more than 20 years of progressive responsibility and leadership
in the recruitment, development and operations of physician practice groups
across multiple specialties and locations as part of Jewish Hospital System.
“We are excited to have someone of Katie’s caliber join our
executive team,” says Michael D. Scherneck, executive vice president
& CFO, Southeast Georgia Health System. “In her new role, she
will oversee the growing number of physician practices that are part of
the Health System, which has grown to more than 100 practitioners and
will continue to expand as we recruit more physicians to serve the needs
of our community.”
Wood has relocated to the Golden Isles with her husband, Joe. They have
two children, Kelsey and Kyle, both of whom are matriculating at the University
of Louisville.
