Frank Clements, PA-C, of Kingsland, Ga., was recently awarded a Certificate
of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Orthopaedics from the National Commission
on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). He earned that distinction
by meeting licensure, education and experience requirements and then passing
an exam in the specialty.
A graduate of Medical College of Georgia, Clements joined Summit Sports
Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery, a strategic affiliate of Southeast
Georgia Health System in 2003. He is one of only three certified PAs in
Georgia to earn a CAQ in orthopaedic surgery since the inception of this
new specialty credential in 2011.
Clements received Medical College of Georgia's Most Outstanding Physician
Assistant Award in 1999.
Certified PAs are licensed and certified health care professionals who
practice medicine in partnership with one or more physicians and bring
a breadth of knowledge and skills to patient care. Though their role in
any particular workplace is determined by the supervising physician, certified
PAs can take histories, conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses,
order and interpret tests, counsel on preventative health care, assist
in surgery, perform a variety of procedures, and write prescriptions.
Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery combines the best qualities
of a medical practice with the strength and integrated resources of the
region's leading Health System, with convenient locations in Brunswick,
St. Simons Island, and Camden. For more information, or to make an appointment
