Ruby Brannen was named Volunteer of the Quarter at the Southeast Georgia
Health System Brunswick Campus Auxiliary’s quarterly luncheon on
Thursday, March 7, 2013.
A member of the Auxiliary since 1992, Ruby volunteers in the Gift Shop
one afternoon each week. A Brunswick resident, she also volunteers with
the First Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. She was employed
as a classified advertising manager at The Brunswick News from 1970 through
1984. She has two daughters, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was married for more than 51 years to Lannice Brannen, now deceased.
In her free time, Ruby enjoys reading, fishing, traveling and going to
the mountains.
“Ruby is a vital member of our volunteer team and has stocked the
greeting cards at our Brunswick Campus gift shop for many years,”
said Kristin Doll, director of volunteer services. “She always has
a smile and an encouraging word for everyone she meets.”
Volunteers serve throughout the Health System at both the Brunswick and
Camden campuses, as well as the Senior Care Centers in Brunswick and St.
Marys. To find out more about volunteering, contact Kristin Doll at 912-466-1071
