BRUNSWICK, Georgia: May 23, 2012– Jerry Harper, treasurer of the
Glynn County Heart Association, hands a check for $20,000 to James A.
Bishop, chairman of the Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation. Half
of the funds were proceeds from the Brunswick Junior Woman's Club's
5th Annual Red Dress Ball and were matched by the Glynn County Heart Association.
Funds will to go towards the purchase of a G.E. MARS Holter Analysis System,
a diagnostic tool using an ambulatory monitor that a patient wears for
24 to 48 hours. The monitor picks up subtle ECG variations, helping physicians
accurately determine which patients are at high risk for sudden cardiac
death. The results are interpreted and electronically stored in the patient’s
medical record.
