BRUNSWICK, Georgia: March 15, 2012– Jim Crandall, pastor of Jekyll
Island Baptist Church, was named the Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick
Campus Auxiliary’s latest Volunteer of the Quarter during the group’s
quarterly luncheon held Thursday, March 1, on the Brunswick Campus.
Crandall has been a member of the Auxiliary since 1992 and currently volunteers
in the Operating Room Prep and Recovery Area assembling patient belongings
kits. Each of these kits contain the items a patient will need during
his or her hospital stay, including a gown, blanket, blood pressure cuff
and more. In addition to volunteering at the Health System, he serves
on the Board of Manna House and is the retired minister of education at
First Baptist Church in Brunswick. His wife Patti is also a member of
the Auxiliary and volunteers in the Gift Shop. The couple has three daughters
and six grandchildren, including one granddaughter who served as a Volunteen
at the Brunswick Campus last summer.
“Jim is always positive, joyful and loves to joke,” said Kristin
Doll, director of volunteer services. “His lifetime of service to
others truly embodies a spirit of commitment to making the world a better
place for others. We are so happy to have Jim as part of our team.”
Volunteers, from teenagers to seniors, work throughout the Health System
at both the Brunswick and Camden campuses, as well as the Senior Care
Centers in Brunswick and St. Marys. To find out more about volunteering,
