Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Camden General Surgery, a strategic
affiliate of Southeast Georgia Health System, is pleased to welcome board-certified
general surgeon J. Alan Wilson, M.D. to the practice.
Wilson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Georgia
State University in Atlanta, Ga., before going on to graduate with his
medical degree from the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon,
Ga. He completed his residency at the Medical Center of Central Georgia’s
Department of Surgery, also in Macon, Ga.
After leaving the Medical Center of Central Georgia in 1997, Wilson practiced
at Memorial Hospital and Manor in Bainbridge Ga., an 80-bed community
hospital and 107-bed long-term care facility, serving the needs of Decatur
County and surrounding communities.
During his 14 years at Memorial Hospital and Manor, Wilson served in numerous
leadership roles, including chief of surgery, vice chief of staff, and
chief of staff, and as a member of the Emergency Room Committee. Wilson
also supported the Decatur community, serving as the Decatur County Fire
and Rescue medical director for 10 years and Decatur County Emergency
Medical Services medical director for 14 years.
Wilson joins fellow general surgeon Damon W. Brantley, M.D. at Southeast
Georgia Physician Associates-Camden General Surgery, located at 2040 Dan
Proctor Dr., Ste. 240, St. Marys, Ga. Their office hours are 8:30 a.m.-5
