Southeast Georgia Health System is offering unique volunteer opportunities
for adults in its Center for Educational Development. Featuring one of
the largest hospital-based simulation centers in a four state area, the
Center boasts the most highly evolved human patient simulators available
for hands-on learning. The simulation lab offers not one, but a whole
family of simulation mannequins that have the capability to produce virtually
any human function that might occur in a real medical emergency.
Volunteers are needed to assist the Center’s educators with patient-care
scenarios and to provide support behind the scenes by preparing educational
packets, providing tours, escorting students to areas within the facilities,
computer entry and more. These volunteer opportunities may be of particular
interest to individuals with teaching, engineering and healthcare backgrounds,
as well as those who possess strong customer service skills.
olunteers are needed Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 pm or 12:30-4:30
p.m. Those selected to become volunteers must attend an initial mandatory
orientation and occasional educational meetings, as well as submit to
an annual TB skin test.
