ST. MARYS, Georgia: Jan. 25, 2012 – The Southeast Georgia Health
System Camden Campus Radiology Department was recently awarded a three-year
accreditation in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) following a recent survey
by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
The ACR awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high
practice standards after a peer-review of the practice. Board-certified
physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field conduct
the evaluations. They assess the qualifications of the personnel and the
adequacy of facility equipment along with the quality of images taken.
“This accreditation was made possible by the hard work and dedication
of our team members who strive to provide our patients with the best screening
and diagnostic services available,” said Timothy P. Bryant, MBA,
RT(R)(N), manager, Radiology and Cardio-Pulmonary Services, Camden Campus.
“Having this accreditation provides our patients and referring physicians
with a high level of confidence in our services and assures them we offer
only the highest quality of care.” The MRI section joins the computed
tomography, nuclear medicine and mammography sections as being ACR accredited.
The ACR is a national organization in partnership with the FDA providing
accreditation that demonstrates commitment to quality patient care. The
ACR provides accreditation programs for mammography, MRI, ultrasound,
nuclear medicine, PET, CT and radiation oncology.
