BRUNSWICK, Georgia: Feb. 14, 2010 –The southbound lanes of the Sidney
Lanier Bridge on Highway 17 in Brunswick will be closed to traffic from
6 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, for the Tenth Annual Southeast
Georgia Health System Bridge Run. Southbound traffic will be re-routed
using Hwy. 341. The northbound lanes across the bridge will remain open.
To accommodate the anticipated crowd of more than 2,000 runners and walkers
expected at this year’s event, there are new start times:
8 a.m. Runners
8:30 a.m. Fire Fighter Challenge
9 a.m. Walkers

calling 800-537-5142, ext. 2786. Runners must register by Feb. 13, 2012.
Each registered participant can pick up his or her bib number and T-shirt
at the Pasta Party and Runner's EXPO, to be held on Friday, Feb.17,
from 5-8 pm at Coastal Kitchen Grill & Raw Bar at Golden Isles Marina
on St. Simons Island. The cost of the party is $5 per person. Participants
can also pick up their numbers and T-shirts on Saturday morning no later
than 30 minutes prior to their event. Walkers can also register at Glynn
Middle School on Lanier Blvd. in Brunswick from 7-8 a.m. the morning of
the race. Only participants who pre-register will be guaranteed a commemorative
T-shirt. Free parking will be available at the school and shuttle buses
will be provided from 7 a.m.-11 a.m. Because of the steep grade on the
bridge, no baby strollers, running strollers or roller blades will be
