BRUNSWICK, Georgia: Feb. 10, 2012–Southeast Georgia Health System
is pleased to welcome Laura Young, as the new director of Marketing &
Public Relations, and Christy D. Jordan, JD, BSN, as the new staff attorney.
Young earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University
of Phoenix. Her past experience includes working as a marketing and public
relations manager with Psychological Success Associates in Valencia, Calif.,
and as a community relations manager at Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster,
Calif. Before joining the Health System, she was most recently the public
relations manager at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Santa Clarita,
Calif., a position she held for four years. Young is a member of the Society
of Healthcare Strategic Marketing & Development and a prior public
relations chair for the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce Health
& Wellness Committee. She was also a member of Rotary International
in Santa Clarita and Lancaster West. She and her husband Grant have four
grown children, Steven, Michael, Cynthia and Gregory.
Jordan earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Medical College
of Georgia in Augusta before going on to graduate magna cum laude with
a juris doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law. She has
more than eight years of experience practicing health care law with nationally
recognized law practices, most recently with Arnall, Golden Gregory, LLP
in Atlanta. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association,
Fraud & Abuse Practice Group and a member of the Georgia State Bar.
Additionally, Jordan is licensed as a registered nurse in Georgia and
currently serves as the secretary of the Hospice of the Golden Isles Board
of Directors. She is also certified in health care compliance by the Health
Care Compliance Association. Jordan and her husband Chris have one daughter,
Julia, 10 months.
