After serving 12 years as a pet therapy volunteer at Southeast Georgia
Health System, Teeney Bernard will retire at the end of 2012. One of the
Health System’s original pet therapy volunteers, Teeney spent his
time at the hospital visiting patients and staff members, lifting spirits
and generating lots of smiles. Teeney, a 14-year-old Tibetan spaniel,
was presented with a certificate for his lifetime of service during the
Senior Care Center-Brunswick Festival of Lights celebration on Nov. 29.
Perhaps more importantly, he also received a jar of his favorite doggie
treats. Teeney is shown here with his owner Donna Bernard, Gary R. Colberg,
FACHE, president & CEO of Southeast Georgia Health System, Wiltz Bernard,
and Kristin Doll, director, Volunteer Services.
