BRUNSWICK, Georgia: March 21, 2011 – Southeast Georgia Health System
is pleased to welcome internal medicine physician Sinnathurai Vasantha-Kumar,
M.D., who goes by S. Vasantha-Kumar, M.D., to Southeast Georgia Physician
Associates-Internal Medicine, a strategic affiliate of the Health System.
Kumar earned his medical degree from the University of Sri Lanka before
receiving his Medical Membership in the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP)
postgraduate medical diploma in London, United Kingdom. His residency
included an emphasis in cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, rheumatology,
dermatology and neurology. He completed residency at Graduate Hospital
in Philadelphia, Penn. He is board-certified in internal medicine by the
American Board of Internal Medicine and has 17 years of hospital and 12
years of primary care experience, including stints as a clinical instructor
at the Department of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Before
joining the Health System, Kumar was most recently a primary care/internal
medicine specialist with Gwinnett Clinic in Lilburn, Ga., where Kumar
treated patients for the past 13 years. This multi-location group of health
care clinics specializes in family and internal medicine with 21 locations
throughout Gwinnett County and northeast metro Atlanta.
