BRUNSWICK, Georgia – In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness
Month and to highlight the importance of good breast health, Southeast
Georgia Health System is offering the following during the Month of October:
Make Breast Care a Routine For Life All patients getting a mammogram at
any Health System location during October will receive breast care educational
materials, a gift and an opportunity to take a breast care quiz for a
chance to win one of six special tote bags filled with valuable gifts.
Think Pink Week Oct. 3 - 7
Pink sweets and education material will be available in the Health System
Cafeterias Health System team members encouraged to wear pink to promote
recognition of breast cancer awareness on Friday, Oct. 7.
Pink Glove Week Oct. 10 - 16
Team members wear pink gloves to promote recognition of breast cancer
awareness throughout the week.
ART-rageous Boxers & Bras Exhibition Oct. 1-14, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Health System team members and volunteers have decorated specially-themed
boxers and bras ranging from the beautiful to the truly outrageous and
they will be on display in the Outpatient Care Center Art Gallery, 2500
Starling St., at the Health System’s Brunswick Campus. Photos of
the boxers and bras will also be on display in front of the Camden Campus
Cafeteria, 2000 Dan Proctor Drive, St. Marys. Members of the community
are encouraged to drop by either location and vote often for their favorite
or favorites for only $1 per vote. All proceeds will benefit the Health
System’s cancer care programs.
ART-rageous Boxers & Bras Reception & Live Auction Thursday, Oct.
20, 6:30-9:30 p.m. Art Downtown, 1413 Newcastle St., Brunswick
The ART-rageous boxers and bras will be auctioned off to the highest bidders
and the top vote getters will be announced. The reception with hors d'
oeuvres and a cash bar will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the auction taking
place from 7:30-9:30 p.m. The cost is $15 per person. Reserve your paddle
by calling 912-466-3360. As with the voting competition, proceeds will
benefit the Health System’s cancer care programs.
First Time Mammogrammers Monday, Oct. 24-Friday, Oct. 28
Patients getting their first mammogram during this week can receive a
one-on-one consultation with the Health System’s breast care nurse
navigator, breast self-exam instruction, a tour of the Breast Care Center,
welcome packet with special educational materials and a gift.
