BRUNSWICK, Georgia: July 25, 2011 – Southeast Georgia Health System
is pleased to welcome neurologist Lori A. Trefts, M.D., to Southeast Georgia
Physicians Associates-Neurosciences, a strategic affiliate of Southeast
Georgia Health System.
Trefts graduated summa cum laude with a dual undergraduate degree in biology
and chemistry from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo., before
going on to complete her medical degree at St. Louis University School
of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo. She completed her internal medicine internship
at St. Mary’s Health Center in St. Louis, Mo., her neurology residency
and a fellowship in clinical multiple sclerosis, both at Wake Forest University
Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Trefts is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry
and Neurology and prior to joining the Health System was an assistant
instructor in the Department of Neurology at Wake Forest University Baptist
Medical Center and most recently was a neurologist with Riverside Medical
Group, Hampton Road Neurology, in Newport News, Va., where she treated
general neurology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and recently served
as a member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Hampton Road Chapter
Board of Trustees.
Southeast Georgia Physicians Associates-Neurosciences is located in the
Southeast Georgia Health System Outpatient Care Center, 2500 Starling
St., Suite 503, Brunswick. The practice will offer treatment for multiple
sclerosis, stroke, epilepsy and other seizure disorders, Parkinson's
