BRUNSWICK, Georgia: Nov. 30, 2010 – Southeast Georgia Health System
is pleased to welcome new team members Libby Skiles, manager of Service
Excellence; Meatrice Knox, manager of OR Materials Management and Central
Sterile for the Brunswick Campus; and Brenda Vashaw, R.N., B.S.N., O.C.N.,
CyberKnife® nurse navigator. The Health System is also pleased to
announce that Kim Buckley, R.N., has been promoted to nurse manager of
the Miriam & Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center on the Brunswick Campus.
Skiles completed her bachelor’s degree in business administration
from Ball State University and her master’s of health administration
at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a member of the American College
of Healthcare Executives and the Society for Healthcare Consumer Advocates.
Her previous experience includes working as a project analyst with Virginia
Commonwealth University Health System and as an administrative resident
at Bon Secours Health System, Inc. in Marriottsville, Md. Most recently,
Skiles served as the service excellence representative for Centra Southside
Community Hospital in Farmville, Va. where she implemented their Service
Excellence program.
Knox earned her associate’s degree in business administration from
Phillips Jr. College. She has multiple years of experience in processing
sterile supplies and equipment management in a number of health care settings,
including St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., Universal
Hospital Services at UF&Shands Jacksonville and Children’s Healthcare
of Atlanta. Before joining the Health System, she was most recently the
manager of Sterile Processing & Distribution at Tampa General Hospital
in Tampa, Fla. Knox is a member of the International Association of Healthcare
Center Services Management, Florida Central Service Association and the
Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution.
Vashaw completed her associate’s degree in nursing from Coastal Georgia
Community College (now the College of Coastal Georgia) before going on
to earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Armstrong Atlantic
State University in Savannah. She began her nursing career at the Health
System as a staff/chemotherapy nurse for six years. After relocating to
Atlanta, Vashaw worked as a clinic manager for hematology/oncology at
Georgia Cancer Specialists. Additionally, she has worked as a hematology/oncology
coordinator and nurse navigator at Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer
Institute at
