BRUNSWICK, Georgia: Nov. 10, 2010–The Southeast Georgia Health System
Brunswick Campus Laboratory was recently awarded a two-year accreditation
by The College of American Pathologists’ Laboratory Accreditation
Program (CAP).
The College of American Pathologists is the world’s largest association
composed exclusively of pathologists and is widely considered the leader
in laboratory quality assurance. The CAP is an advocate for high quality
and cost-effective medical care.
“CAP accreditation goes well beyond meeting basic regulatory standards
and provides a solid foundation for quality practices and helps laboratories
achieve the highest standards of excellence to positively impact patient
care,” says Marjorie Mathieu, R.Ph., FACHE, Health System vice president
whose areas of responsibility include Laboratory Services. “I am
so proud of our team and the outstanding job they do every day in ensuring
that our lab services are second to none. This accreditation is a testament
to their dedication to provide our patients with the highest quality care.”
