BRUNSWICK, Georgia: April 14, 2010– Southeast Georgia Health System
is pleased to announce the following team member promotions in Patient
Care Services:
Laura Grantham, R.N., MSN, APRN, Director, Patient Care Services Jan Jones,
R.N., BSN, Director, Patient Care Services Shannon Wainright, R.N., BSN,
Director, Patient Care Services
Grantham first completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees
in nursing from Armstrong Atlantic State University. She joined the Health
System in 1991 as a staff nurse and has held various positions throughout
the Brunswick Campus before taking on the role of director of nursing
practice in 2007. Grantham is a former non-commissioned officer with the
345th Combat Support Hospital at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, and past
nursing instructor at the College of Coastal Georgia and Armstrong Atlantic
State University. She is a member of the Georgia Organization of Nurse
Leaders, the National League of Nursing, the Georgia Association of Nurse
Educators, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and
the Georgia Nurses Association.
Jones completed her Bachelor’s degree in nursing at Valdosta State
University. Before joining the Health System in 1986, she worked for the
Community Dialysis Center in Brunswick and Emory University Hospital in
Atlanta. Upon arriving at the Health System’s Brunswick Campus,
she worked as a staff nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit before
moving up to the nurse manager positions in Telemetry, Medical Intensive
Care, and the Medical/Surgical units, then becoming a critical care instructor.
Prior to accepting the director’s position, she spent the last 10
years as nurse manager of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Jones is a
member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing,
the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, and the American Association
of Critical Care Nurses.
Wainright earned her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Valdosta State
University and is presently enrolled in the MBA in Healthcare Management
program at Brenau University. She joined the Health System in 1994 as
a nursing assistant while attending college and upon graduation, she worked
as a staff nurse in Pediatrics at the Brunswick Campus until transferring
to the Camden Campus Maternity Care Center in 1997. In 2002, she became
the clinical coordinator and later served as nurse manager of the Camden
Campus Maternity Care Center until October 2008 when she was appointed
administrator for Patient Care Services at the Camden Campus. Wainright
is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing
and the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is also an alumnus
of the Camden County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Camden.

and Shannon on our leadership team who have the experience to meet such
