BRUNSWICK, Georgia: Jan. 14, 2010– Southeast Georgia Health System
is pleased to welcome board-certified endocrinologist Frank Robert Kohler
Jr., D.O. Kohler joins Shenon Badre, M.D., at the Endocrinology &
Diabetes Care Center, a strategic affiliate of Southeast Georgia Health
System. Badre and Kohler are the only two endocrinologists practicing
in Glynn County.
Kohler completed his undergraduate degree in biology from Ursinus College
in Collegeville, Pa., before going on to earn his medical degree from
the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa.
After an internship at Memorial Hospital in York, Pa., Kohler, completed
his residency in internal medicine at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore,
Md., where he later served on the internal medicine faculty. He then entered
into private practice in Orangeburg, S.C. for six years before opening
a private practice in Chesapeake, Va.
Kohler is a member of the American College of Endocrinologists and the
Endocrinology Society. He and his wife, Susan, are moving to St. Simons
Island with their five children, Bobby, Brendon, Brian, Brodie, and Beth Ann.
The Endocrinology & Diabetes Care Center is located in Suite 601 inside
the Outpatient Care Center, 2500 Starling St., Brunswick. In addition
to specializing in the treatment of patients with diabetes, the Centers
offer treatment for all types of disorders of the glandular, hormonal,
and metabolic systems, including thyroid disorders and osteoporosis. Endocrinology
consultations are also available for adolescent and adult patients hospitalized
