BRUNSWICK, Georgia: Jan. 1, 2009 – More than 1,500 babies are born
annually at Southeast Georgia Health System’s Brunswick Campus.
However, each Jan. 1 the cycle begins anew with the welcoming of the first
birth of the New Year. This year that honor goes to Aubrigh Raylyn Vizcaino,
who arrived in the Miriam & Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center on
New Year’s Day at 1:23 a.m. The proud parents are Erica Vizcaino
and Timothy Keach of Brunswick. She was delivered by Matthew Johnston,
MD, and weighed in at 5 lbs., 6 oz., and measured 18 inches long. She
is the couple’s second child—Aubrigh joins big sister Thalia, 3.
Both mom and dad say they were surprised that Aubrigh made her debut on
New Year’s Day. “My due date was Jan. 17, but this is a great
surprise,” Erica Vizcaino said. “Happy New Year!” Dad
agrees. “She was a little early, but we are very excited to have
her here,” he said.
The new mom, whose first child was also born at the Brunswick Campus, said
Dr. Johnston helped alleviate any apprehension she had about Aubrigh coming
early. “He was a really good doctor and explained everything, so
I didn’t feel nervous,” she said.
The Health System presented the happy parents and baby with a large gift
basket full of goodies and baby care necessities from the Brunswick Campus
Gift Shop. Pictured from left are: big sister Thalia, dad Timothy, and
