BRUNSWICK, Georgia: Aug. 30, 2010– According to the Georgia Commission
on Men’s Health, Georgia men on average live five years less than
women, have lower average life expectancies than men living in other states
and are less likely than women to follow preventative health measures
or seek medical attention when they need it. This is why during September,
National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Southeast Georgia Health System
is offering two free Men’s Health Fairs.
Be sure to mark your calendars for the following events:
Free Men’s Health Fair- Camden Campus
When: Tuesday, Sept. 14, 4 -7 p.m.
Where: Southeast Georgia Health System Camden Campus, Medical Pavilion,
Suite 210, 2040 Dan Proctor Drive, St. Marys
Free Men’s Health Fair- Brunswick Campus
When: Thursday, Sept. 16, 4 -7 p.m.
Where: Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick Campus, Outpatient Care
Center, 2500 Starling St., Brunswick
The Men’s Health Fairs will not only include free prostate cancer
screenings, but will also offer blood sugar and blood pressure checks,
body fat composition and grip strength testing, as well as information
and giveaways on such topics as testicular cancer, managing stress, exercise,
depression, and more. Tailgate-themed refreshments will also be served
at both Health Fair locations.
