BRUNSWICK, Georgia: Oct. 5, 2009 – October is Breast Cancer Awareness
Month and Southeast Georgia Health System will host a free lecture entitled,
“Treatment Options for Breast Cancer,” as part of its on-going
community lecture series. This seminar will be held on Thursday, Oct.
15, at 6 p.m. in the Cafeteria Conference Room on the Camden Campus, 2000
Dan Proctor Drive, St. Marys. Radiation oncologist Kenyon Meadows, MD,
will be the featured speaker, and will talk about the variety of treatment
options now available for breast cancer patients, including the latest
in less-invasive procedures.
Meadows, a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine
in Cleveland, Ohio, is on the staff of the Cancer Care Center, located
on the Health System’s Brunswick Campus. He is board certified by
the American Board of Radiology and belongs to the American Society of
Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and the Radiological Society of North
America. He has made numerous professional presentations and has had articles
accepted for publication in the Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology
and Physics and the American Journal of Otolaryngology.
The next breast cancer seminar will be “Breast Cancer Reconstruction
Surgery,” which will be held in the Linda S. Pinson Conference Center
on the Brunswick Campus, Thursday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m., with board certified
plastic surgeon Diane Bowen, MD.
