BRUNSWICK, Georgia: March 9, 2009 – The Seventh Annual Southeast
Georgia Health System Bridge Run across the scenic Sidney Lanier Bridge
on Highway 17 in Brunswick, Ga., is scheduled for Saturday, March 21,
and has been certified by the US Track Association as a 5K course until 2019.
The deadline for early registration for both runners and walkers is only
$18 and has been extended to Monday, March 16. Runners and walkers can
register early online at www.active.com or the mail-in registration forms
and information can be found at www.sghs.org, or by contacting 912-466-7007.
Mail-in registrations must be postmarked by March 16.
There is a $2 discount per entry for teams of 10 or more runners. The fee
the day of the Run is $25. Event day registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
at the Brunswick side of the bridge under the Health System tents, with
the race beginning at 9 a.m. Only participants who pre-register will be
guaranteed a commemorative long-sleeve event T-shirt. Because of the steep
grade of the bridge, which is the tallest span in Georgia, no baby strollers,
running strollers, or roller blades will be allowed.

- Entertainment
- Live Radio Personalities from Sunny 103.3 and WYNR
- Food and Awards
Registration is required to participate in the Bridge Run and proceeds
will benefit the Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation. Established
in 1994, the Foundation provides the basis of ongoing support for new
programs, services, and equipment needed to ensure that quality health
care is always available in Southeast Georgia.
The Foundation Board of Directors, composed of members of the community,
works to support the Health System through philanthropic efforts, so that
the Health System, a not-for-profit entity, can continue the rich tradition
