Valeria Thomas Hooper has been named the new radiology support services
manager for the Brunswick Campus of Southeast Georgia Health System. Hooper
comes to the Health System with 10 years of management experience. Prior
to joining the Health System, Hooper held positions at Blue Ridge HealthCare
in North Carolina as director of Support Services and help desk manager.
She was previously named Employee of the Year at Blue Ridge Healthcare.
“We are very excited to have Valeria join our team,” says Karen
Beaver, director of radiology at the Brunswick Campus. “In her new
role, she will be responsible for the support staff of Radiology which
includes the clerks, schedulers, radiology transcriptionists and clerical
assistants. Other areas of responsibilities include the file rooms, ordering
of supplies, inventory and payroll. We feel her years of proven professional
experience make a perfect fit with our Health System team.”
Hooper completed her Associate’s degree in business computer programming
and accounting from McDowell Community Technical College in Marion, NC,
before going on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in management information
systems from Gardner-Webb University.
Hooper is a native of Jacksonville, Fla., and moved to the western mountains
of North Carolina in 1990. Hooper has relocated to Brunswick with her
children—Randy, 18, Miko, 16, and Kaity, 4.
