Members of the Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation honored their
Friends of the Foundation during a National Philanthropy Day® luncheon
on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Brunswick Campus. Last year, local communities
gave more than 1,500 gifts to the Foundation. The Foundation’s Friends
of the Foundation program is comprised of individuals and couples who
make a gift or a pledge of at least $5,000 for the support of the not-for-profit
Health System.
According to Katherine Thurber, the Foundation’s director of development,
gifts from people in the community are crucial for the Health System’s
continued success and growth. “The Southeast Georgia Health System
Foundation develops resources which support the Health System, encourages
charitable giving to enhance patient programs and services, and assists
the residents of our area with access to the medical care they deserve,”
Thurber says. “Every day their generosity is transformed into new
equipment, programs, and services. This support is invaluable to the Health
System’s mission to offer the highest quality health care for individuals
and families in southeast Georgia.”
