Brandi M. Wynne, M.D., is a board-certified internal medicine physician at
Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Primary Care. From a young age, Dr. Wynne knew that she wanted to go into the medical
field. When she was fourteen, she enrolled in a health occupations class
and discovered a passion for it. She fell in love with the idea of meeting
new people and making a difference in their lives.
After graduating from the University of Georgia with her bachelor’s
degree in biochemistry, she worked for two years with George Walker, M.D.,
a nephrologist in private practice in Eastman, Georgia. Under his mentorship,
she gained early exposure to treating kidney diseases before even attending
medical school. What began as a month-long shadowing program turned into
a full-time position in his practice where she gained invaluable hands-on
experience in the medical field.
Dr. Wynne earned her medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine
in Macon. She completed her internship and residency training in internal
medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She also completed
fellowship training in nephrology while at the University of Alabama.
Prior to joining the Health System, Dr. Wynne treated patients at Taylor
Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville and Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia.
Dr. Wynne sees adult patients for a variety of chronic diseases, with an
emphasis on nephrology, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, hypertension,
geriatrics, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia,
coronary artery disease and congestive heart failure. She describes her
approach to practicing medicine as a patient-centered partnership.
It’s important to her to get to know each patient on a personal level,
to learn their family and personal history as well as their medical history,
because everything ties into overall health and wellness. She finds great
satisfaction in getting to know her patients, determining the cause of
their ailment, developing a treatment to ease their suffering, and witnessing
them improve over time.
A Georgia native, Dr. Wynne and her husband, Robert Peacock, frequently
vacationed on St. Simons Island before relocating permanently to the Golden
Isles. They now live in Waverly and soak in the beauty of each sunrise
over the marsh. Mr. Peacock owns Advanta Clean, a water and mold restoration
franchise in Brunswick, and is looking forward to expanding his entrepreneur
enterprise into a contracting company.
In her free time, Dr. Wynne enjoys the outdoors with her family, which
includes her husband, their four-year-old son, Wynn Peacock, and her step-children,
Kate Peacock, age 14, and Will Peacock, age 12. Lately, she’s been
decorating their new home and listening to financial podcasts, because
she’s “always interested in listening and learning something
