Dr. Sandifer was one of the best pediatricians my son has been to (and he has seen a LOT of Drs.)! I was so surprised by how well he listened to our concerns, how thorough he was with his exam, and his patience/kindness. It felt like we were his only concern for the day, and yet, the appointment itself was very quick and efficient. He was even able to identify issues that have previously been missed by other doctors, and get all tests ordered to confirm his suspicions. I will continue to have my boys be seen by Dr. Sandifer for as long as possible!

Biography

Benjamin T. Sandifer, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician practicing at Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Pediatrics on St. Simons Island, Georgia. After earning his medical degree in 2019 from the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Sandifer completed his pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. With a passion for taking care of people, a love for children and a drive to never turn down a good challenge, Dr. Sandifer found his perfect career in pediatrics.

His approach to patient care is collaborative. He wants to be a resource for patients and their caregivers, encouraging them to ask any questions they may have. Dr. Sandifer appreciates the opportunity his role provides to watch his patients grow and develop while he helps parents navigate difficult decisions to keep their family healthy.

When he isn’t practicing medicine, Dr. Sandifer enjoys rock climbing, biking, exercising, playing golf and spending quality time with his wife.

Juan Arana, D.O., earned his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and completed his residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. Why he became a pediatrician: “It’s been like a spiritual journey,” Dr. Arana says. “My confirmation saint is St. John Boscoe. He devoted his life to helping children, and that’s what I aspire to do too."
